Marty

I am a retired 57-year-old mother and grandmother with 3 kids and 6 grandchildren. I love to travel, and to road trip on my motorcycle. I also enjoy farming our hay fields and just being outside playing in the dirt. I’ve rescued dogs for over 35 years, they feed my soul. I like to get both the kids and the dogs off the asphalt and outside to play on our 67 acres.

How did you find your surgeon? What were the specific reasons you chose him or her over other providers?

A friend of mine had a breast augmentation with Dr. Kyllo and I can honestly say that she has the most beautiful breasts I’ve ever seen. After seeing the results of her surgery, and having suffered from neck and shoulder pain for the past 30 years, I decided that I wanted to meet with Dr. Kyllo. After my consult, I knew that he was going to be my surgeon and I went ahead and scheduled my reduction surgery.

What type of procedure did you have and why did you decide to have this procedure?

I have had huge boobs all of my adult life and they’ve always hindered me from doing some of the things that I enjoy. They’ve caused me so much neck and shoulder pain that my fingers would often go numb. Once I found out my insurance would cover the cost of the surgery I wished I would have done it years ago.

Describe your surgical experience and recovery.

My surgical experience was great from start to finish. The entire staff was incredible and I never once felt anxious or nervous about the surgery. Everyone on the team patiently answered the hundreds of questions I had and made sure to keep me very informed every step of the way.

My surgery went very well, but unfortunately, I was not the best patient and I ended up doing too much too soon while I was still healing. This resulted in water retention and pain. After my follow-up with Dr.Kyllo, I made sure to follow doctor’s orders and I made it a priority to get adequate rest for the next couple of weeks. The remainder of my recovery went well and I felt great.

What were your fears about having this procedure and how did your surgeon help you overcome them?

My only real fear about having a breast reduction was that my reduced breasts would no longer match my larger frame. Dr. Kyllo assured me that they would be the right size for my body type and fortunately, he was right!

Describe why you are happy you chose this procedure. How has it positively impacted your life? Your self-esteem?

The impact of my breast reduction has been life-changing. I’ve spent the last several years prioritizing the health of my mind, body, and soul, and it was a true blessing to have this breast reduction done and to finally have this weight literally taken off my shoulders. I am now 6 weeks post-op and I have been wearing shirts that I’ve not been able to wear for 30 years.

Tell us specifically about why you are happy you chose the surgeon you did? Describe his/her most outstanding qualities.

Dr. Kyllo is an artist that truly cares about his patients. He always made me feel very comfortable during my appointments and he was consistently kind, approachable, and informative. Whenever I talked with him I felt like I was talking to a caring friend and any questions or concerns I had were addressed right away by either him or one of the staff members.

How did our staff support you in your surgical experience?

The entire staff was absolutely amazing! I can’t thank them enough. I feel truly blessed to have had my breast reduction done with your team. Everyone at the Polyclinic Plastic Surgery Center went above and beyond to offer me true patient-centered care.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering this procedure?

If you have been wanting to have a breast reduction done for years, my advice is to just do it! Don’t wait any longer. Having this done is life-changing. I’m 57 years young and very active. I’m not just alive, I’m out there living my best life thanks to Dr. Kyllo and the entire Polyclinic Plastic Surgery staff.
