I am a 60-year-old kindergarten teacher, married mom, and dog lover. I absolutely love my job and my school family is an important part of my life. As a dog lover, I have always adopted rescue dogs and I consider them part of the family. We have 3 at the moment but at one time we had 4. That’s a lot of dogs. They bring a lot of joy to my family’s life. I have also always enjoyed being physically fit and active.
How did you find your surgeon? What were the specific reasons you chose him or her over other providers?
My sister knows several women that have had procedures done by Dr. Kyllo. They all had great things to say about their experience with him but their results said the most: these women all looked happy and beautiful. When you see people that look that good, while still looking natural, you want that for yourself too!
What type of procedure did you have and why did you decide to have this procedure?
I had a forehead lift, lower blepharoplasty, and pearl laser skin resurfacing. I knew the skin resurfacing would really help my sun-damaged skin. I grew up in the 1970s and lived close to the water. At that time it was all about being tan. I don’t remember ever even hearing about sunscreen. In fact, we even used baby oil back in those days to try to get as tan as possible, yikes! I was outside all the time and I remember getting some really bad sunburns. I also used tanning beds a lot in the 1980s when they were popular. Needless to say, as I aged my skin showed the abuse of the sun. Wrinkles and brown spots were not my friends. I wish we knew then what we know now about sun damage.
Describe your surgical experience and recovery.
My surgical experience couldn’t have been any better. I followed Dr. Kyllo’s instructions and took it easy. I healed very fast. When I went in for my 3-week check-up Dr. Kyllo said I was ready to return to my normal activities. I was so happy!
What were your fears about having this procedure and how did your surgeon help you overcome them?
I did have some fear. I think for most people there is probably always a bit of fear when it comes to going under for surgery. But I wanted to have it done so badly and I was so excited that those feelings were stronger than any fear I had.
Describe why you are happy you chose this procedure. How has it positively impacted your life? Your self-esteem?
The procedures I had done gave me exactly the results I was hoping for and I can say with confidence that I now look as good as I feel. Being a teacher, especially a kindergarten teacher, takes a lot of energy. I no longer wanted to look tired when I wasn’t. Finally, I feel like others now see me the way that I have always seen myself. I am a happy and fun person, now I look that way all the time!
Tell us specifically about why you are happy you chose the surgeon you did? Describe his/her most outstanding qualities.
I am so happy I chose Dr. Kyllo because I knew he would do beautiful work and I was not disappointed! When I met him I also discovered what a kind person he is in addition to being a very experienced and highly skilled surgeon. He was very conservative in what he suggested I needed to have done and he always made me feel like he had my best interests in mind. I really feel that I got the best I could have for the investment I made. Dr. Kyllo is a true artist and a gem of a person.
How did our staff support you in your surgical experience?
The entire staff was awesome. All my questions were answered and everyone made me feel well taken care of, like part of the family. Haley Trudeau did the pearl laser for me and she continues to help me with my skincare products and services.
Do you have any advice for others who may be considering this procedure?
My advice: just do it!! You will be glad you did. I did this for my 60th birthday present. It was worth tuning 60 for!
