With that in mind, we are thrilled to be able to offer our Seattle patients treatment with Viveve: an FDA-approved, non-invasive, painless, and effective procedure that restores vaginal tissue. Imagine experiencing renewed sexual confidence in as little as one treatment session!
What Is Vaginal laxity?
Like all body tissues, the skin and muscles in your vagina weaken and lose elasticity with age causing laxity, or looseness. This vaginal atrophy can lead to many problems for women, disrupting their daily lives and affecting their intimate relationships.
Signs of vaginal atrophy can include:
· Pain or discomfort during sex (burning or itching)
· Decreased lubrication
· Loss of sexual function
· Vaginal laxity or atrophy
· Reduced desire and arousal
· Inability to orgasm or decreased orgasm intensity
· Urinary incontinence (leakage)
· Overstretched or thinning vaginal walls
What is Viveve and how does it work?
Viveve is a non-invasive treatment that strengthens and rejuvenates vaginal tissue by delivering cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) energy to vaginal tissues. The small Viveve device is inserted just inside the vaginal opening and delivers CMRF energy into the walls of the vagina. This energy heats the underlying tissue, activating the body’s natural healing response and stimulating collagen production. As the CMRF energy is being delivered to deeper layers of tissue within the vagina, the device simultaneously cools the delicate surface tissue of the vagina.
Viveve is safe and painless, requiring no downtime. It is an effective, FDA-approved treatment that has been clinically proven to improve:
· Vaginal laxity
· Vaginal dryness
· Vaginal sensitivity
· Comfort during sexual intercourse
· Sexual climax
· Intimacy
· Incontinence
· Urinary leakage
It’s important to have realistic expectations as overall results vary from person to person.
Who is a good candidate for Viveve treatment?
Viveve is a great treatment for any woman who is experiencing the symptoms listed above. Typically speaking, the women who come to us for this treatment have given birth vaginally or have reached menopause. Women undergoing treatment for breast cancer can also benefit.
Viveve and vaginal painVaginal discomfort, which can come in the form of burning, itching, dryness, and overall discomfort during intercourse, can harm a woman’s health, sexuality, and overall self-esteem. Viveve improves the amount of natural vaginal lubrication which helps with all of these issues. Not only does the additional collagen Viveve produces help with these problems, but the resulting increased blood flow to the vagina does as well.
What can I expect during a Viveve treatment?
During your initial consultation, one of our providers will sit down with you in the comfort of our Aesthetic Center to learn more about the symptoms you are experiencing. We will ask some questions about your overall health to ensure that Viveve is a safe treatment option for you. Your consultation is your time to discuss what you are hoping to accomplish and ask any questions.
In many cases, one or two treatment sessions will be enough to get satisfactory results. Each session will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes, not including your initial consult. While you may be a little swollen after the procedure there is no downtime and you will be able to return to work or your other normal daily activities right away. It is, however, recommended to abstain from intercourse for 48 hours after your treatment.
When will I see the results?
Viveve works at the cellular level, so while you may notice an improvement in lubrication right away it will be a few weeks before you notice any significant changes. Cell replacement and collagen production will be in full force one month after your Viveve treatment and will continue the rebuilding process until approximately 90 days after the procedure when full results will be apparent.
Six to nine weeks after their procedure, most patients notice a dramatic improvement in vaginal sensitivity, tightness, and lubrication, as well as a significant reduction of urinary incontinence. Results last approximately one year, sometimes longer; however, your vaginal tissues will continue to age naturally, so when and if your symptoms return, retreatment is possible. Most patients are extremely satisfied with Viveve and feel that the procedure has improved their love life and their overall quality of life.
If the problems associated with vaginal atrophy are affecting your quality of life, we’d love to help you discover what the Viveve treatment can do for you! If you are ready to take control of your vaginal health and wellness, we’d love to help! Maintaining sexual health is a real priority for many of our female patients and we are thrilled to be able to offer a treatment that can help restore function and confidence to your love life.
