Meet

Wendy

I am a professional working in the Cloud Industry with a teenager who will be entering high school in the fall. In my free time I love to travel, hike, and listen to podcasts that make me ponder. I also enjoy and watching a good movie, and even some bad ones.

How did you find your surgeon? What were the specific reasons you chose him or her over other providers?

I am fortunate to have a friend who is a Medical Director at Swedish Oncology with a long-established ARNP career working with breast cancer patients. During my initial research of local Seattle Plastic Surgeons, I reached out to her for guidance and recommendations on who I should consult with. She highly recommended Dr. Nadeau based on the feedback she had received from her patients about the care they were given and the natural results she created for them. From that point on I knew that Dr. Nadeau was going to be the only surgeon I’d book a consult with. Once I met her it was clear that she was going to be the perfect surgeon for me.

What type of procedure did you have and why did you decide to have this procedure?

I had a breast reduction and lift. I have been wanting this surgery done for over 25 years. Having large breasts that were not proportional to my frame has always been a daily challenge but as I’ve aged those challenges have been even more difficult to overcome. In recent years I’ve been dealing with more shoulder and neck pain, headaches, issues with working out, lower back pain, and challenges with maintaining correct posture. I’ve worked hard over the past few years to improve my overall health and it became very apparent I needed to have this surgery to help improve my quality of life. Dr. Nadeau was highly recommended by my medical team and once I met her all of my questions and fears were put to rest and I was excited to move forward with the surgery.

Describe your surgical experience and recovery.

My entire surgical experience and recovery couldn’t have gone any smoother. I felt seen, heard, understood and well taken care of by Dr. Nadeau and the amazing Polyclinic Plastic Surgery staff every step of the way. Everyone on the team was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

What were your fears about having this procedure and how did your surgeon help you overcome them?

My main fears were about receiving adequate pain management after the procedure. In the past, I have had challenges with doctors that were not able to adequately manage post-op pain for previous surgeries due to my high metabolism of medications. Dr. Nadeau and the Anesthesiologist listened to my concerns and addressed them accordingly.

Describe why you are happy you chose this procedure. How has it positively impacted your life? Your self-esteem?

Where do I begin? The impact of my breast reduction and lift has been life-changing.

Since my surgery, the shoulder, neck, and mid-back pain I had experienced for years is all but gone. My posture has improved and the hump in my neck is nearly gone. I’m able to work out harder and stretch deeper. I am down two shirt sizes and clothes fit me much better. I am now able to shop in all the stores and I’m no longer restricted to ordering from stores with specialty sizes. This in itself has been life-changing. My days are no longer centered around managing breast discomfort.

Tell us specifically about why you are happy you chose the surgeon you did? Describe his/her most outstanding qualities.

Dr. Nadeau is a true gem. It’s quite rare to find a highly skilled surgeon who also actively listens to and genuinely cares for her patients without ego as she does. Her only goal is to make you look and feel like the best version of yourself and she does that with artistry and compassion.

How did our staff support you in your surgical experience?

I’ve had a number of surgeries in my life and Dr. Nadeau’s staff is simply the best team I have ever encountered. They are all incredible human beings: funny, compassionate, caring. Dr. Nadeau and her amazing team have truly set the standard for what patient-centered care should be.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering this procedure?

The main advice I can offer is to make sure you have all of your questions and concerns written down for your consult. No question is too silly or small. I asked a lot of questions and Dr. Nadeau never made me feel rushed. All were answered thoughtfully with detail and care.
